According to reports by the Lakeland, Florida police, Tristin Michael Nelson Wright,22, held three children captive in a Lakeland home, refusing to release them to a family relative. Reports state that Wright is the stepfather to the children and is involved in a domestic dispute with the family. When Wright refused to let the children leave with the relative, he showed that he was carrying an assault rifle. The relative notified police immediately.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the children exited the residence and stated to police that Tristin Michael Nelson fled the residence. Police believe that he is armed and dangerous, still carrying the assault rifle.
